In 1904, Professor Otto Warburg proposed establishing a Zionist Fund to plant olive trees on lands redeemed by Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-JNF
In 5665 (1904), משרד החינוך – Ministry of Education and the KKL-JNF enacted tree planting in all the schools throughout the country.
